Check

Check JSON text and find the first problem

POST/v1/check/string/is/valid/json

View as Markdown

Answers whether the text is valid JSON. When it is not, returns the line, the column, a short excerpt and a plain message for the common mistakes: trailing comma, single quotes, a line break inside a string, a missing comma, an unquoted property name, comments, NaN and text after the document. Broken JSON is a normal answer (valid false), not an error.

Request body

Name Type Required Description
content string yes The JSON text to check

Example request

A request body that works, as JSON.

{
  "content": "{\n  \"city\": \"Porto\"\n  \"temp_c\": 18\n}"
}

Responses

Status When it happens
200 Successful Response
400 The body respects the operation schema, but the use case rejected it. Each problem is one ApiError entry
413 The request is larger than the request size limit of the API allows
422 The body does not respect the operation schema. Each problem is one ApiError entry with the code validation_error
500 Something failed inside the server and was not an input problem. The same envelope, errors may be empty
