Format

Pretty print or minify JSON text

POST/v1/format/json

View as Markdown

Pretty-prints JSON with the chosen indent, or minifies it. Key order and non-ASCII text are kept. Broken JSON answers 400 with the line, column and reason, so the caller can fix it.

Request body

Name Type Required Description
content string yes The JSON text to format
style one of: pretty, minify no pretty adds indentation, minify removes all optional whitespace (default "pretty")
indent integer no Spaces per level when the style is pretty (default 2)

Example request

A request body that works, as JSON.

{
  "content": "{\"city\": \"Porto\", \"temp_c\": 18}",
  "style": "pretty",
  "indent": 4
}

Responses

Status When it happens
200 Successful Response
400 The body respects the operation schema, but the use case rejected it. Each problem is one ApiError entry
413 The request is larger than the request size limit of the API allows
422 The body does not respect the operation schema. Each problem is one ApiError entry with the code validation_error
500 Something failed inside the server and was not an input problem. The same envelope, errors may be empty
