# Turn name and value entries into an object

`POST /v1/edit/json/from_entries`

Turns a list of objects with a name field and a value field into one object. A duplicate name, a missing field or a name that is not text is refused with the position of the entry, because it would overwrite or lose a value.

## Request body

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| entries | array of object | yes | Objects with a name field (text) and a value field |
| name_key | string | no | Name of the field that holds the property name (default `"name"`) |
| value_key | string | no | Name of the field that holds the property value (default `"value"`) |

## Example request

A request body that works, as JSON.

```json
{
  "entries": [
    {
      "name": "webservice.url",
      "value": "https://example.com"
    },
    {
      "name": "webservice.key",
      "value": "demo-key"
    }
  ]
}
```

## Response

The fields inside `data` of a successful response.

| Name | Type | Required | Description |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| data | object | yes | One property per entry |

## Example response

A real answer from the operation, as JSON. The fields in the table above are inside `data`.

```json
{
  "data": {
    "data": {
      "webservice.url": "https://example.com",
      "webservice.key": "demo-key"
    }
  },
  "errors": null,
  "meta": {
    "request_id": "ecbe7f78-90d3-43e2-9713-577e418f30c5",
    "timestamp": "2026-10-27T07:19:42.192263Z",
    "version": "2026-03-26"
  },
  "pagination": null
}
```

## Responses

| Status | When it happens |
| --- | --- |
| 200 | Successful Response |
| 400 | The body respects the operation schema, but the use case rejected it. Each problem is one ApiError entry |
| 413 | The request is larger than the request size limit of the API allows |
| 422 | The body does not respect the operation schema. Each problem is one ApiError entry with the code validation_error |
| 500 | Something failed inside the server and was not an input problem. The same envelope, errors may be empty |
